I visited this page looking for someone to comment on this specific thing. 711 SO has become so obsolete, am I the only one thinking of leaving SO for someone else? The data charges are uncompetitive in comparison to things on the market.
I agree that data with SpeakOut is not competitive with other providers. I disagree with the comment that SpeakOut "has become so obsolete" However, it is perfect for people like me who don't need data. They started out as a low cost/no frills carrier. No other carrier offers a service where $25 (for talk/text) can last a year.
With a dual sim phone couldn't you have the advantage of both?
Recently switched from an Iphone 4 to an Iphone 6 (both with speakout). MMS worked fine on the Iphone 4 but isn't working on the Iphone 6.

Dual SIM phones are generally awful though. You can either use one SIM at a time, or one of the SIM radios is GSM only. Better off with 2 phones.
This may be old news but someone was dissing me when I mentioned how much I like cheap-and-cheerful SpeakOut. They were saying "you can't even send a pic through it".
Just wanted to say, in case people think this is true, that you absolutely CAN text and receive pics. I do it all the time. The only caveat is that I have to be on data to do it, wireless won't transmit/receive. (At least in my case.)

I decided to buy the phone, and I'm very happy with it. The battery life is very good for my needs.
I have been using a 8gb moto g on SO for a few years. Texting only. Lots of wifi. No data. I want to upgrade to something with at least 32gb for more app room. I am able to buy a used Nexus 5 unlocked that would work for me. When i try to put in my SO Sim i get no service. Anything else i could try?

I am a first time user of speakout services, just bought the Virtue 111. Have set up phone number and activated phone online. Now waiting many hours for charge. All I see on screen is battery with lightning bolt, can't turn phone on. Any ideas? (Not new to smartphones - have another Android phone - but new to this one. Have checked forums and faqs for an answer to this problem but dnt see anything.)
It was the phone. I exchanged it.
That really sucks, but I'm glad it worked out. Out of millions of devices being manufactured, some can turn out to be duds.

I have the 1GB value plan and I guess I played too much Pokemon and ran out of data three days ago.
I rarely talk on the phone but when I did for a minute today I see I only have .35 cents left. I had over $102 on December 8.
I'm worried how over $50 could have disappeared from my account between December 8 and today.
My value plan is due for renewal January 7th.
Has anyone else had money disappear from their account like this?
